Being a drummer for some people perhaps is not so special.
There are people who interested to play drum by their heart. The desire of a
person to a certain instrument of music is different. Many of them are tend to
like the melodic instrument rather than supporting instrument. Like other music
instruments, drum also has the genre of playing.
Jazz, rock, punk, classic, country, blues etc. have the
different skill or technique of drumming. In the 2014, there was a musical
movie that tells about the story of drummer. In the movie, the main actor has a
big desire to be a jazz drummer and play in a live orchestra performance.
Andrew Neiman played by Miles Teller is the main character on this film. The
conflict on this movie is between Andres Neiman and the Conductor Terence
Fletcher (J. K. Simmons). Andrew Neiman wants to be a core drummer in Fletcher
band. He tried and practices hardly to gain his dream.
This movie inspires us to be men who never give up gaining
our dream. The art of drumming is not only the power and speed, but also the
soul. You should have the drum soul to play the drum. At the 87th Academy
Awards, this movie won Best Sound Mixing, Best Film Editing, and Best
Supporting Actor for J.K. Simmons as Terence Fletcher.
