Learning drum is not
so easy since there are several techniques to play it. The main technique on
playing the snare drum of metal genre is rimshot. Rimshot is a technique where
the drum stick is hit hard on the rim and center of snare at the same time. This
technique need some practice to get the constant hit. Usually the shoot is
played mixed with the guitar distortion of music.
In a metal music,
hi-hats usually played open slightly for the trash sound mixed with other
players. You should set the ho-hat so it can be found the appropriate sound. The
cymbal choke is another technique of metal drum. it is where the cymbal is stopped
short by opposite hand after it is hit. This technique creates the aggressive
punctuation of metal.
